Sam Smith’s stunning vocals have infiltrated the nation over the past year with a variety of collaborations and a few teasers of Sam’s own solo material. After working alongside some of the biggest names this year, the time has come for Sam to take centre stage as he unveils his debut 4 track EP, titled ‘Nirvana’, to be released through PMR records in October.
Sam spoke about Nirvana last week ahead of revealing the first track from the EP - ‘Safe With Me’ receiving support from Mistajam, Zane Lowe, Monki and B Traits to name a few. The eponymous second track debuted on Zane Lowe’s show last night. See the visualizer for ‘Nirvana’ here
“Ladies and gentlemen, since ‘La La La’ I’ve been experimenting with different sounds and producers in preparation for my record. I have loved the process so much that I have decided to release an EP this summer to show you what I’ve been trying out. ‘Safe With Me’ is the first song on the EP”
Sam played to huge crowds this year as he took to the stage with Disclosure at Coachella Festival as well as performing his solo set at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and a recent sell out gig at the Mercury Lounge in New York. With a forthcoming capsule UK tour this autumn, which is already sold out, and work begun on his debut album due for release next year it’s been an incredible year so far.
