No Middle Name is the solo project of David Bailey from The Title Sequence. He follows up the debut single ‘Another Season’ with the self titled 12 track album released on Limited Edition Vinyl and download. After a chance meeting with Mollusc Record’s Rory Mansfield at a party in London, Bailey was kindly lent the keys to Glove Box studios and a request to record whatever he liked... 7 weeks later, Bailey emerged, not with the acoustic introspective album that was expected, but his own unique slice of dream pop and lo-fi indie.
The debut single Another Season has gained over 10,000 plays on soundcloud after being a hit with blogs such as Indie Shuffle, Little Indie Blogs and The Sound Of Confusion. The song was also accompanied by a self made animated video, completing the whole DIY package.
For the album and single artwork, Bailey collaborated with Berlin Based photographer Matthias Heiderich which really comes to life on the vinyl. One of Bailey’s biggest achievement so far was being asked to play for his teenage hero David Gedge of The Wedding Present, at Gedge’s annual festival in Brighton called ‘At the Edge of the Sea’ in August. An event Bailey already had tickets for to go as a fan, so was amazed and delighted when he got asked to play just two weeks before, due to a cancellation to a packed audience.
